Continuing to read through Revelation, I most often find myself speechless. These events that will end the time we are in and start God’s judgment of mankind, putting all things in order finally – they are overwhelming. My first thought is that I am so glad God is love, because he is also holy, perfect and sinless. Without his love, the human race would have ended at two people, Adam and Eve, who first sinned against him.
It can be easy to “forget” (or really choose not to think about) God’s holiness and perfect justice. We see evidence of God all over, but we lose perspective of what truth is. This world is currently ruled by a being, Satan, that hates God and all people and pushes his agenda on all of us. Sadly we fall for it so easily – just look at what the world values – greed, fame, and power. It’s “all about me” and “getting what I want”. People don’t know or remember why we were created – to love and serve God. We can see God as our enemy, or a big inconvenience, when in fact we are the ones so very confused and misled.
When you get the feeling that
something is wrong,
life is wrong, life isn’t fair, I don’t seem to fit – there’s a reason. The life we live is not what it was meant to be. Pick up a Bible, and meet the God that made you and loves you. His words are not always easy, but they are always true. He holds the answers we seek. We can see why so much really is wrong in our world, but that one day it will be righted – no more injustice, no more suffering, no more constant pull to sin.
But, make sure you get things squared away with God yourself. All people are born in the enemy’s camp, not on God’s side, not in his graces. He loves every person absolutely – he made you! But he is also perfect and just, not able to be in sinful man’s company. However, he made a way for us to be freed of our sin – Jesus. The ball is in our court to accept his gift, humble ourselves and choose to serve the Almighty God instead of the enemy. It’s not a fairytale – it’s real life and death reality. Ask God for his forgiveness and
choose to serve him today
as your Lord and Savior. Don’t risk life apart from him and all the horrible judgments that await God’s enemies.
Jesus says in John 10:10, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
1 Thessalonians 5:9 For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.
